1. Open and Transparent Management (APP 1)
Travel and Taste is committed to managing personal information in an open, transparent, and accountable manner. We maintain a clear and accessible Privacy Policy that explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and safeguard your information. You can request our Privacy Policy free of charge and in a format that suits you (APP 1.3–1.6) .
2. Collection of Personal Information (APP 3)
We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our services—for example, when making bookings, responding to inquiries, or providing newsletters and promotional offers. Collection occurs through fair and lawful means, directly from you unless it’s impractical (APP 3.1–3.6) .
3. Notification at Collection (APP 5)
When collecting your personal information, we take reasonable steps to inform you of the purpose of collection, any third parties we may share the information with, and the fact that you can access and correct your information. This ensures you’re fully aware of how your information will be handled (APP 5, part of guidelines overview) .
4. Use and Disclosure of Personal Information (APP 6)
Your information is used only for the purposes for which it was collected—such as bookings, travel arrangements, or sending promotions. We will not use or disclose your personal information for unrelated purposes unless you consent, it’s reasonably expected, or it’s required by law (APP 6.1–6.2) .
5. Cross-Border Disclosure (APP 8)
When necessary to arrange travel services, your personal information may be transferred outside Australia—for instance, to suppliers like hotels or airlines. We ensure such disclosures comply with APP requirements and ensure adequate handling of your data (covered under cross-border principles) .
6. Data Quality (APP 10)
We take reasonable steps to ensure personal information we collect, use, or share is accurate, complete, up-to-date, and relevant to the purpose for which it’s collected (APP 10) .
7. Security and Retention (APP 11)
Security is paramount. We employ reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorized access, modification, or disclosure. When personal data is no longer required, we take steps to destroy or de-identify it, unless we are legally obliged to retain it (APP 11.1–11.2) .
8. Access and Correction (APPs 12 & 13)
You have the right to access your personal information held by us. Upon request, we will provide it unless specific legal exceptions apply, and will offer a written explanation if access is refused (APP 12) . If your information is inaccurate or incomplete, you may request corrections—and we will respond and, where appropriate, correct and notify relevant third parties (APP 13) .
9. Sensitive Information
If we request sensitive information (e.g., passport details, health or dietary requirements), we will do so only when it is reasonably necessary for our services and with your consent, as required under APP 3.3 .
