Negombo – Sigiriya – Kandy – Nuwara Eliya – Udawalawe – Colombo

Day 01 - Airport – Negombo Travel Time – Approx. 30 mints

  • Arrive at airport

  • Travel to Negombo

  • Evening free.

  • Overnight at hotel  

Upon arrival at airport you will Meet & assist by our Srilanka office representative. Later you will drive to Negombo. On arrival check-in at hotel. Rest of the evening at leisure Optional:- Ayurweda Treatment (Rates on Request) The Ayurweda offers you the finest of treatments in a totally relaxing atmosphere. Ayurveda is the 'science of life' and in order to escape the mundane and hectic m any a person visits the Ayurveda Pavilion's to get a healthy dose of its healing powers. Day 02 - Negombo - Sigiriya Travel Time – Approx. 3hrs – 4hrs

  • En-route visit the Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawala

  • Continue to Sigiriya

  • Check-in at hotel

After an early breakfast leave for Sigiriya.

En-route visit the Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawala. The orphanage was created to protect abandoned and orphaned elephants. It has now grown into a popular elephant attraction in the country and with good reason, for no where else except at Pageants (processions) are you likely to see so many elephants at close quarters. The elephants are controlled by their mahouts (keepers) who ensure they are fed at the right times and don’t endanger anyone but otherwise the elephants roam freely around the sanctuary area. There are many elephants in residence from babies to young adults. Among the attractions, you will be able to witness elephants being lead to a nearby river for bathing. You could also see the feeding of the baby elephants which is the highlight of the visit.

(Note:- The center opens at 8.30am and closes at 6.00pm daily. Best times to visit is during bottle feeding at 09.15a.m and bathing time at the river at 10.00a.m)

Visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Climb the 180meter rock which was a royal citadel for nearly 20 years. This great exiting site is nearly one hectare in extent. The rock fortress was built by King Kashyapa who killed his father to gain his wealth. This wonderful fortress is a masterpiece of artistry. Sigiriya has been made famous throughout the world for the frescoes on its rock wall and advanced water system. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 03 - Sigiriya – Kandy Travel Time – Approx. 2hrs-3hrs

After breakfast leave for Kandy. Visit a spice garden in peradeniya to see many different types of spices Sri Lanka is famous for. Cinnamon, Cardamom, Pepper, Cloves and nut meg are cultivated that place.In addition to their commercial spices, Luckyland Spice Garden boasted ornamental plantings of saffron and cocoa, as well as the vanilla vine. Visit a Gemological Museum and Showroom. At the Gemological Museum you could view a video film on the entire process of gem mining, cutting and polishing and also witness in reality how gemstones are cut and polished. Also visit a Batik Factory and witness as to how handcrafted Batik is made, which is a unique process. Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha (Sri Dalada Maligawa), which houses the most important Relic of the Buddhists in Sri Lanka. A gold canopy was erected some years ago over the roof of the shrine room where it is place. In the evening view a colorful cultural performance of Kandyan Dancers. The finale is a display of firewalking. Overnight stay at Hotel in Kandy.

Day 04 - Kandy -Nuwara Eliya Travel Time – Approx. 1 ½ hrs - 2 ½ hrs

  • Drive to Nuwara Eliya.

  • Enroute visit Ramboda Falls

  • Check-in at hotel

  • Overnight in Nuwara Eliya

After an early breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya. The road from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya climbs nearly 1,400 meters as it winds through jade green Tea Plantations and past crystal line reservoirs. Kotmale reservoir can be seeing from a little further up the road Ramboda falls, 108 meters in height can also be viewed en-route.

Ramboda Falls is 109m high and 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and 729th highest waterfall in the world. This spectacular water fall is found just below the Gampola – Nuwara Eliya road at Ramboda pass. It is formed by Panna Oya, a tributary of Kothmale Oya. Since there are 3 Cascades formed with the same brook, the upper and lower falls are hardly visited by travelers. Altitude of the falls is 945m above sea level.

Day 05 - Nuwara Eliya - Udawalawe Travel Time – Approx. 2 ½ hrs - 3 ½ hrs

  • Visit Tea Plantation and Factory

  • Check-out from hotel

  • Leave for Udawalawe

  • Check-in at hotel

  • Enjoy jungle safari into the national park

  • Overnight at hotel

After breakfast leave for Tea Plantation and Factory. You will be taken around the factory on a guided tour and explained the entire process of tea manufacture. You will also be given an opportunity of tasting freshly brewed “Ceylon Tea”, considered as the best in the world.

Leave for Udawalawe.

UDAWALAWE NATIONAL PARK is located approximately 200 km south-east of Colombo city and is a major eco- tourism destination in Sri Lanka. The 30,821 hectares dry zone game park has an annual rainfall of 1524 mm and an average temperature of 29.4°C. It is most famous for the many elephants that live there (about 400 in total). During a visit, it is not unusual to see whole herds of adults and young elephants– feeding or bathing and playing in the water! In addition to this main attraction, the park is home to many water buffalo, water monitor lizards, sambar deer, monkeys and the occasional leopard, as well as being an exciting location for bird enthusiasts.

Day 06 - Udawalawe - Comlobo Travel Time – Approx. 3 hrs - 4 hrs

  • Drive to Colombo

  • Check-in at hotel

  • Visit Colombo

  • Evening free

  • Overnight at hotel

After breakfast leave for Colombo. On arrival check-in at hotel.

Later leave on a sightseeing tour of Colombo. (Approx.: 2-3hrs) A drive through the city will take you to Fort and Pettah - the commercial area of the city and tree-lined Colombo 7 - Cinnamon Gardens. Colombo 3, 4, 5 & 8 are the prime residential areas of the City. The Hindu Temple at Sea Street - lined with goldsmith shops, the Dutch Church at Wolfendhal dating back to 1749, the historic Devatagaha Mosque, Independence Square, BMICH, Gangaramaya Temple and Colombo Museum are some of the attractions in Colombo. After that proceed with shopping. Sri Lanka is renowned for ‘Ceylon Tea’, ‘Ceylon Cinnamon’, spices, precious and semi-precious gems and jewelry in Silver, gold and white gold.

Day 07 - Colombo - Airport. Travel Time – Approx. 1hr – 2hrs
